Statement Concerning Resignation

By James Brown Jr.

On the evening of May 10th, I resigned as pastor of McDonald Baptist Church in Sylvania, Georgia. It comes with many mixed emotions because we are saddened to be leaving so many friends. On the other hand, we know that God has great things ahead and so we are anticipating His next order.

However, we know that our ministry and work in the East Georgia is far from over. We have many projects that we will be continuing to work on here in this area. Therefore, our contact, relationship, and friendship is not going to cease. We are happy that our friendships are eternal in Jesus Christ and that we will also still be able to stay connected with so many dear people in this area.

For the next few months, we will be working to establish Baptist Vision of Georgia in a fully functioning capacity. We will also be engaged in campaigning for Ray McBerry and working in conjunction with a few organizations.

Our move into our next church ministry will be a little slow. We are going to be moving to the Upson County area, which is between Atlanta and Macon. This is for purposes of organizing our Baptist Vision ministry and some other projects. We will also be seeking God's leading and will in the matter of our next church ministry.

We do not want to make any sudden decisions at this time. We believe we know the leading of the Lord but want to move slowly as to avoid any reactionary decisions or mostly the appearance of such. We have many things to consider and seek God's counsel about.

We covet your prayers and your patience regarding these announcements. We do not plan to drag things out, as there is much work to be done. Yet, we want to give McDonald some space and time as well as ourselves before we start seeking to move forward.

We pray that God will be gracious to McDonald and us during this time. We want nothing but the best for everyone involved and therefore we covet your prayers for the church and our family.

We will be providing more details and announcements as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement to us and this ministry. God bless!
