About Covenant Baptist Church
Covenant Baptist Church (CBC) was constituted on October 25th, 2009 with a vision to glorify God in all things. Existing for the glory of God, CBC seeks the the regeneration of sinners, the revival of the Church, the reformation of society, and ultimately, the reconciliation of the world.
CBC is built upon the 5 foundational principles (Five Sola's) that produced the Great Reformation:
- Sola Scriptura (By Scripture Alone)
- Sola Fide (By Faith Alone)
- Sola Gratia (By Grace Alone)
- Solus Christus or Solo Christo (Christ Alone or Through Christ Alone)
- Soli Deo Gloria (Glory To God Alone)
Like the early church in the book of Acts we have began our commission with the message of truth with limited resources and lacking facilities. However, emphasis is to build upon the sure foundation of Christ knowing that only in obedience to these things will the work be blessed.

What Makes CBC Different?
CBC is a covenanted body of believers committed to the advancement of Christ's Kingdom. This makes CBC different than many other churches as our purpose is not simply or solely humanitarian, educational, or ministerial but transformational.
CBC has begun with a vision and the foundation of truth in contrast to the modern philosophy of the church growth movement. CBC differs tremendously than most church plants or established churches. We are build upon the historic truths of Christianity and believe that God will supply our needs as we are obedient to our calling. Therefore, we believe God will build His Church as His people are enlightened with His vision and pledge their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor for Christ's Crown and Covenant.
Covenant Baptist Church is different because:
- of its willingness to take its historical Baptist roots seriously.
- it views sufficiency and authority, in addition to the inspiration and infallibility of the Word of God, as foundational to our essential beliefs (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Timothy 4:2; Isaiah 8:20; Luke 16:29; John 5:39; John 5:46-47; Acts 17:11; Mark 7:7-9).
- of its unshakable conviction that the church exists for the glory of God (Ephesians 3:21; I Peter 2:5, 9; I Corinthians 10:31).
- of its conviction that the local church is central to the purposes of God on the earth (Revelation 5:10; 1:6; Daniel 7:18, 27; Colossians 1:16-18; Ephesians 1:22). Therefore, Covenant Baptist Church is committed to reform the home, the church, and civil government (I Peter 3:22). As the “pillar and ground of the truth” (1 Timothy 3:15), we do not view it as the home or the government's responsibility to be the agents of change in society. It is to be the church who leads the home and civil government as the instructor of the Word of God.
- of its conviction that preaching is foundational to the life of the church. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Jesus said, “Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free” (John 8:32). He identified this truth as being the Word of God as He prayed, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth" (John 17:17).
- of its belief that salvation radically alters the life of the convert. We are born again by the Spirit of God being regenerated by the Word to walk in newness of life.
- it is concerned about the individual and their family. Though we see the church in the context of family units, we do not lose the individual in the whole of the church. Though we are one body, we are still many members to whom we seek to minister to the needs of. At Covenant Baptist Church you are not the means to an end, but the end to which we use means to disciple, fellowship with, unite as one, and equip for service in the Kingdom.
- it believes in the faith once delivered to the saints and, therefore, is orthodox in the mode of historical Baptists such as Charles Spurgeon, J.L. Dagg, Arthur Pink, Jesse Mercer, William Carey, John Broadus and many others.
- it believes the Law of God (as summerized in the Ten Commandments) is regulative in the life of the believer and upon society.
- it upholds male leadership in the church.
- it takes seriously the nature of church membership. Membership is not adding one’s name to a roll but a covenant between God and fellow believers.
- it believes in the complete command of the the Great Commission to disciple the nations. This command is not to see who can get the largest number to repeat the "sinners prayer" but to make the kingdoms of this world, the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ (Revelation 11:15).
- of its belief in the victorious Gospel of Christ. We are not looking for an escape route but exercising our commission to reconcile the world to Christ.
- of its love for our reformed heritage.
- of its principled commitment to a free church and a free state.
- of its willingness to defend and preserve our heritage.
- of its resolve for constitution government.
- it is not seeking the material glory that is destroying the modern American church. We are not a country club or a nice place to elevate your social or economic standing in the community.
Covenant Baptist Church is working to change lives, homes, churches, and our civil society by bringing all men, women, and children under the rule and reign of the Lord Jesus Christ.
