The price of reformation 2010: The Year of Real Reform? © Baptist Vision Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year as it is with many Americans. The smell of fresh baked goodies fills our house, excitement fills the air, and the joy of Christ fills our hearts.
In past years, the message of Advent has overcome the darkness. Hope, joy, peace, and the love of Christ have conquered all our sins, fears, and pessimism. The Gospel of Grace through the Incarnation of Christ has transformed America many times over. Of course, this picture is the Norman Rockwell version of the past. Our culture is becoming more cynical and hopeless as we cast off the hope of America’s foundation. Holy Writ rightly says, "Hope deferred maketh the heart sick..." Scrooge, which was one old cantankerous man per neighborhood, is now the accepted norm in many communities. The reason is that we are a nation of sick hearts. The Spirit of Christ no longer rules in the lives of men but has been regulated and voted out by citizens, councils, conventions, and congress. Although we have liked the idea of individual autonomous rule, the concept of socialistic humanism has not worked out so well. The handwriting on the wall culturally, economically, spiritually, and politically has spelled out our doom. Whether our leaders are deceived, ignorant, or just hell-bent on a certain agenda is not always clear. However, what is clear is that their leadership will lead us straight to hades. Even if we give them the benefit of the doubt, as old saying goes, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." While our political and "spiritual" leaders have not been able to read the divine script, some of the common folks have read the wall post clearly. As was evidenced in Tea Parties, rallies, the State Sovereignty Movement, elections, and several other grass-root populists' uprisings, the common folks are beginning to get a belly full. They may not always know which direction to go, leaderless armies are usually chaotic, but they are looking for direction, leadership, and truth. According to Rasmussen Reports, the majority of voters (63%) believe America is going the wrong direction. Only 30% said that America is going the right direction.
Rasmussen also reported the following day, "Sixty-six percent (66%) of U.S. voters prefer a smaller government with fewer services and lower taxes over a more active government with more services and higher taxes." Only 22% favored the socialistic model of bigger government with more services and higher taxes. This poll released by Rasmussen is significant. With all the politically correct, socialist propaganda, the liberals have lost the battle for the minds. They have won in the arena for who gets to enact their worldview. No one dares to defy the loony left lest you face economic and reputation ruination. Nevertheless, most Americans know the new order we are allowing to be legislated is immoral and evil. The old order of America is the Christian model based upon the law of liberty in Holy Writ. This prototype established the land of the free and the home of the brave. Most Americans know this is the right direction. This coming year could be a year for real reform. The problem is that reform is costly. Americans are going to have to give up sin and return to God, give up pleasure and educate themselves, and give up amenities and return to responsibility. Along with opportunity comes danger. This year could bring more financial difficulties. The temptation to tolerate and accept increasing tyranny and evil will be even greater. Giving up more economic and personal freedom will be the salvation call of political evangelists. Therefore, we must remember the words of Benjamin Franklin: “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” In addition to more financial difficulties and the trade-off of liberty for safety will be the greatest danger--the doctrine of libertinism. Many are being deceived into thinking this cursed fruit is “good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise...” (Genesis 3:6)” Satan and his angels of light have told Americans, through the apostate Church and the Anti-Christ State, if we partake of this tree our “eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil” (Genesis 3:5). Don’t believe them. The fruit is cursed. Look around at our homes, churches, and civil society and tell me that the fruit of man’s autonomy, which is humanism, has produced anything except destruction. It is exactly as God’s Word predicted in Deuteronomy 28 as God said if nations would obey Him, they would be blessed. However, if they rebelled against His Word He would curse them. America is reaping the curses of God’s wrath and this is just the beginning. It is because of God’s mercy we are not yet destroyed. “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.” -Lamentations 3:22 The beginnings
of God’s chastisement upon us are for the purpose of restoration. If
we do not repent and reform ourselves, He will then finish His work against
us.
“And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me; Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.” -Leviticus 26:23-24 Baptist Vision of Georgia (BVG) stands ready to assault the corrupt Church and civil institutions. For the Crown Rights of Jesus Christ let's take back the home, church, and civil government. Regeneration, revival, and reformation is a matter of life and death. The time to do the right thing has come. This is the year to begin true reformation! Back to Baptist Vision News Back to News Archives |
